Rya Rug Weaving With Artist/Weaver Gretchen Romey-Tanzer
REGISTER NOW Rya knotting has a strong Scandinavian tradition. Wool yarn is hand knotted into a specially designed woven wool and linen backing. Historically Rya cloths were used as cloaks, blankets, and wall ornaments. Each participant will be given the materials to complete one 12” square of Rya knotted fabric. Gretchen Romey-Tanzer has handwoven the backing fabric. Wool rug yarn, tapestry needles and instructions are included in the packet.
