Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans. Since the mid 1970s, people have used the month of February to take a critical look at the way African Americans have changed our history, culture, and national identity. We will look at the lives and work of black musicians as we listen to their music and have fun with expressive art activities.

We will listen, discuss, and create. Music will include Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cook, Jimi Hendrix and more!

Amy Wyman has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Life from Wheelock College and an M.A. in Expressive Art Therapies with a specialization in Music Therapy from Lesley University, and more than 15 years of experience working with children. Amy currently works in the Falmouth Public Schools and the Coalition for Children.

This program is appropriate for children who are 5-10 years old.
