The seventh season of Curtis On Tour will feature brilliant pianist Di Wu performing side-by-side with a student wind quintet in a program to include Samuel Barber’s iconic quintet, Summer Music. Ms. Wu will join the students in Mozart’s gorgeous quintet for piano and winds, Poulenc’s spirited sextet and a work by Pulitzer-prize winner Jennifer Higdon, a member of the composition faculty of the Curtis Institute. Curtis On Tour continues to usher new works into the repertoire with the commission of Summer Shimmers, a wind quintet written especially for this tour by alumna Katerina Kramarchuck.
