Another summer of “Buy Local, Eat Local” and we will give you many ways to “Cook Local.”  Vendors from local markets and farms will supply the ingredients and we will work with these high quality products in order to help you put the best tasting and freshest dishes on your table at home. Some local artisans and experts will join the classes to promote their products and answer any questions you might have.  Recipes and tastes are provided.

This class is more than just parsley and basil, we will explore the bounty of beautiful flowers and culinary herbs that can easily be grown at home, or purchased at the farmer’s market. From lovage to lavender, lemon balm to sage, (and all the others in between), we will sniff and bake, chop and braise. Dishes include Shrimp with Herbs and Feta, Beef Stew with Lovage, Sugar Snap Peas with Mint, and Lavender Shortbread Cookies.
