Join us for a paper cutting workshop with artist, Carolyn Guest
Artist Carolyn Guest will discuss papercutting as a cultural art form and demonstrate basic techniques. Participants will use these simple techniques and materials to create at least one papercut to take home. Having grown up on a family farm in Vermont and spending time in Poland, folk art and crafts were always an integral part of Carolyn’s life. She is a member of several artist’s guilds and is on the board of the Guild of American Papercutters, currently exhibiting in Highfield.
For her artwork, the sheep shears are her challenge tool– pushing the limits of creating fine detail with this rudimentary instrument. It is also her way of honoring her teachers and fellow women artists who have made do with what they have.
This class is for anyone with (or without) artistic experience. Suitable for adults and children over 10 accompanied by an adult.
