A picnic on the beach has never been so inviting than it is right now!

We are so excited to welcome Kay Benaroch, Chef/Instructor at Kitchen Confidence, to our kitchen team! Kay will be crafting her own classes in addition to Gail’s, and is kicking off the summer with her “Sizzlin’ Summer Fare” series.

Choosing appropriate beach and picnic fare takes planning and creativity so let us help you from Highfield’s kitchen. Join our new culinary instructor Kay Benaroch on ZOOM, and learn about preparing two easily transported dishes to make your next beach-side picnic a hit: a variation of a classic Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwich and an Asian Cole Slaw with peanut dressing.

After signing up, you will receive instructions and be provided the dedicated link to join via computer.

Classes will be held online using the Zoom platform, and if you choose to use the video option, we have no doubt you will find friendly and familiar faces!

 

About the Chef:
Kay Benaroch started to get interested in cooking while watching PBS and Julia Child in the late 1960s.  She experimented with multiple types of cooking on her own before enrolling in recreational and then professional classes at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, MA. After graduating from the Cambridge School she worked briefly as prep cook where she created original desert recipes for a bistro in Acton, MA. Her experience includes working for a culinary PR firm where she practiced translating recipes from restaurant cooks into versions suitable for the home cook.  Her cooking experience includes both baking and savory dishes from multiple cultures including French and Italian, Greek, Indian and Thailand. By constantly experimenting with new dishes, spices and techniques she is continuing to fuel her passion for finding and sharing new flavors with other people.
