This class is a demonstration and designed for those who want to expand their baking skills to include galettes (open faced tarts) both sweet (apple and frangipane) and savory (leek and kale).  We will start with the crust for each, easily made in the food processor –and the dough comes together in a kitchen towel.  Then we will make an almond paste (frangipane) to bake underneath the apples.  Galettes have many variations, including the crust, which we will discuss in class. You will leave with a pie crust saying “galettes are easier than pie!”
