New York-born violinist Akiko Kobayashi is a veteran performer of both solo and chamber music. After winning the prestigious MTNA national competition, she appeared at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Devine in New York City, before traveling to Europe to play recitals and orchestral performances in Bavaria, Germany and Italy. As the grand prize winner at the IBLA Competition in Sicily, she was noted for her “precise and honest playing, with no artificial effects.” Ms. Kobayashi is a young artist with rare sonic and interpretive gifts.
