Togetherness: The Front Steps Project

JANUARY 27 – MARCH 27

Photographic essay conceived and produced by photographer Lee Geishecker and realtor Annie Hart Cool.

Togetherness celebrates and documents a unique period in the recent history of Falmouth and the surrounding communities of Bourne, Mashpee, and Sandwich. Business owner and local photographer Lee Geishecker, together with realtor and community business organizer Annie Hart Cool, produced a visual diary of people in these communities affected by the unprecedented restrictions and limits to normal life brought on by COVID 19. The seemingly simple formula of photographing individuals in households, then sharing on social media, became something much larger and powerful by bringing friends and strangers together. By having this exhibition at Highfield Hall, in what is in many respects, Falmouth’s living room, the strength, humor, creativity, and above all, togetherness through a pandemic of monumental proportions, illustrates how much the sum is greater than all of its parts.

When viewed together these images will not only be a reminder of resilience and ingenuity, but also one of celebration. Together, “we all got this.”

This exhibit is made possible through the generous support of the
Fleetwing Charitable Trust Foundation

This exhibit is supported in part by grants from the Falmouth and Sandwich Cultural Councils, local agencies supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
