Remembrances of Futures Past
Three artists consider where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. Resa Blatman, Michelle Lougee, and Christopher Volpe combine unusual media, such as antique frames, tar, tintype frames, and mold-injected plastic, to reexamine our troubled relationship to the natural world.

Resa Blatman, In Memorium, 2013, Oil on wood panels; glitter on laser-cut PVC, 33 x 70 inches

Michelle Lougee, Souvenirs (2024), found objects, post-consumer plastic, various sizes

Christopher Volpe, Keepsakes (for the Future as it Passes), 2024, tar on paper, housed in Victorian daguerreotype
